Sirona Medical has raised $40 million in Series D financing led by Avidity Partners, with participation from 8VC, GreatPoint Ventures, KLT, Rose Park Advisors and other investors. The company said the funding gives it enough capital to fund its operating plan indefinitely.
The San Francisco-based company’s RadOS platform combines PACS archiving, diagnostic image viewing, reporting, worklists and workflow artificial intelligence in one cloud-based system. Since its public launch in November 2023, Sirona has secured contracts covering dozens of customers and hundreds of integrated sites, with more than 12 million primary imaging exams a year under contract.
Sirona plans to use the financing to expand implementation and round-the-clock support, including new offices in Burlington, Vermont, and Cincinnati, Ohio. Anders Osterholm, a 25-year Sectra veteran, has been hired to lead the client services organization. The company also plans to commercialize Cortex, its agentic AI orchestration layer, and launch Sirona Global before the end of 2026, targeting markets including the United Kingdom, the European Union, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia.
The financing follows a $42 million Series C round announced in November 2024. That round supported development of the company’s unified workflow platform, customer support and commercial expansion, and brought Hooman Hakami in as chief executive while founder Cameron Andrews moved into the president role. Sirona’s latest expansion will also build on a network in which more than half of its customers are already collaborating through RadOS, with additional network tools planned for development with private-practice and health-system partners in 2027.
