D-Wave Quantum and QuantumScape offer investors exposure to emerging technologies, but they are at different stages of commercialization.
Its December 2025 balance sheet showed a debt-to-equity ratio of 0. 1x and a current ratio of 42. 4x.
Its debt-to-equity ratio was 0. 1x and its current ratio was 15. 9x at December 2025. The company held cash and marketable securities of $859 million at the end of the second quarter, but it remained pre-revenue and dependent on continued development spending.
QuantumScape’s management has said a commercial product will not be ready until at least 2029. That gives the company time to continue its battery program, but it also leaves investors waiting longer for evidence of commercial production and sales.
The comparison therefore rests on two different risks. D-Wave has an operating business with paying customers and reported revenue, but its losses and cash use remain substantial. QuantumScape has significant liquidity and a longer development timeline, but it has not yet established commercial revenue. On the reported financial and operating evidence, D-Wave presents the clearer near-term business model, while QuantumScape remains the more distant commercialization bet.
