Silicon Motion posts record $560. 2 million quarter as adjusted profit surges and Q4 outlook rises

Silicon Motion Technology reported third-quarter 2026 revenue of $560. 2 million for the period ended Sept. 30, up 24% from the previous quarter and 131% from a year earlier.

The quarter showed a wide gap between the two earnings measures.

Growth was led by several businesses outside Silicon Motion’s traditional consumer-controller base. SSD controller sales rose 20% to 25% sequentially and 55% to 60% year over year. Ferri and boot-drive solutions increased 75% to 80% from the second quarter and more than twenty-five times from the year-earlier period. Chief Executive Wallace Kou said Ferri products for automotive and edge artificial intelligence, enterprise boot drives, and the company’s Edge, enterprise and MonTitan controllers contributed to the quarter.

For the fourth quarter, management forecast revenue of $588 million to $616 million, representing sequential growth of 5% to 10%. The company said it remained on track for record 2026 revenue, with growth of more than 100% from 2025, while enterprise and artificial-intelligence product families were still in the early stages of contributing revenue.

The board also raised the annual dividend by 15%, from $2 to $2. 30 per ADS, with quarterly payments of $0. The first installment under the new rate was scheduled for Nov. 19, 2026, to shareholders of record at the close of business on Nov. The results therefore present two distinct signals: the GAAP measure was reduced by investment-related items, while revenue, adjusted earnings, margins and management’s fourth-quarter targets all advanced sharply.
