Bitcoin rebound gathers pace as China growth data and easing oil prices lift risk appetite

Bitcoin climbed to about $82,700 on Monday, extending a rebound from a Sunday low near $80,700. The move followed a brief drop below $80,000 on Thursday, with the cryptocurrency now holding above that level as broader risk assets recovered.

Altcoins outperformed bitcoin during the move. Arbitrum gained 6. 7%, while Uniswap rose 3. 2% to about $7.

The market recovery coincided with a rebound in equities after a difficult week for U.S. The Nasdaq fell 4. 5% last week, its steepest weekly decline since June, while CoreWeave dropped 25% amid concerns about artificial-intelligence spending and debt. Nasdaq 100 futures rose more than 1% on Monday, and Asian stocks advanced as oil prices eased.

China’s economy grew 4. 5% year over year in the third quarter, up from 4. 3% in the second quarter, while growth for the first three quarters reached 4. The economy also expanded 1. 2% from the previous quarter. Exports were a major source of strength, although domestic demand remained weak and officials said the foundation for stable growth still required consolidation.

Other large cryptocurrencies also moved higher. The Altcoin Season index stood at 56 out of 100, below last week’s 2026 high of 63.

Trading activity increased as the rebound developed. The combination of rising prices and faster growth in derivatives positioning indicated that leverage was contributing to the advance.
