Bitget is ending services for a limited group of users in a one-time process while saying the exchange remains operational and affected customer funds are safe.
The users selected for the change are being contacted by email, in-app notices or push notifications. Those messages will explain the next steps, deadlines and withdrawal arrangements. Customers who have not received an official notice can continue using their accounts normally.
Bitget said its support team will handle questions involving pending orders, withdrawals and other account matters during the transition. It warned customers to rely on official channels and watch for phishing links, impersonation accounts and unverified claims.
The announcement follows a security incident that began on Sept. 24, when unauthorized transfers were made from part of Bitget’s hot- and warm-wallet infrastructure. The exchange temporarily halted withdrawals while it isolated affected systems and investigated. Bitget later put the final verified value of the transfers at approximately $388 million.
The exchange said its investigation found that a vulnerability in a third-party security product enabled access to high-level credentials and fraudulent withdrawal commands. It said the vulnerability was remediated, while asset tracing, recovery efforts and further security work continue.
For customers who receive a service-discontinuation notice, the immediate issue is the deadline and procedure for withdrawing assets or resolving open orders. Bitget has not publicly identified the affected users or provided a complete timetable beyond the direct notifications.
