Chainlink brings continuous weekend valuations to tokenized assets through Aave Horizon

Chainlink has launched Chainlink 24/7, a pricing service that extends reference data for stocks, commodities and other traditional assets across weekends and market holidays. Aave is adopting the service for Horizon, its institutional lending platform, beginning with tokenized versions of high-volume U.S.

The system combines data from regular, extended and overnight trading sessions with quotes from multiple perpetual-futures venues after the underlying traditional market closes. Its weekend and holiday reference therefore reflects derivatives trading rather than a live transaction on a closed stock or commodity exchange.

Chainlink’s pricing engine is designed to stitch those inputs into one continuous reference series for each supported asset. It filters stale quotes, limits the influence of outliers and manages the transition between session-specific data and off-hours pricing. Data Feeds publish prices directly on blockchains for lending protocols, while Data Streams provide faster updates and market-session information for other applications.

The rollout fills a gap created by the different operating schedules of blockchains and traditional markets. On-chain markets run continuously, while U.S. Equities generally trade during weekday sessions; before the weekend extension, applications could pause activity, use the last available price or build their own off-hours systems. Chainlink’s earlier 24/5 infrastructure covered pre-market, regular, post-market and overnight weekday sessions and was reported to support more than $1. 6 billion in tokenized stocks.

Horizon is a separate, licensed Aave Labs instance of the Aave Protocol for institutional and other qualified participants. Users supply permissioned tokenized real-world assets as collateral and borrow stablecoins, with collateral positions subject to issuer allowlists and asset-specific loan-to-value and liquidation parameters. The new feeds are intended to let Horizon continue valuing eligible collateral when the underlying markets are closed, but the verified announcement does not identify the first individual equities, a deployment timetable or changes to Horizon’s borrowing terms.
