Hong Kong adds Solana Company to strategic-enterprise program as firm plans Asia-Pacific validator hub

Hong Kong has designated Nasdaq-listed Solana Company, ticker HSDT, as a strategic enterprise, placing the digital-asset infrastructure firm in the government’s seventh intake of companies establishing or expanding operations in the city. The designation was announced on Oct. 22 during a signing ceremony organized by the Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises, or OASES, and Solana Company said it was the only blockchain-infrastructure company added to the program in 2026.

The new intake contains 18 enterprises, half from mainland China and half from other parts of the world. The companies span advanced manufacturing, new energy, artificial intelligence, life and health technology, fintech, and cultural and creative technology.

Solana Company has established a Hong Kong office that will serve as the headquarters for its Asia-Pacific executive team. The company said the status will provide a central government contact, faster routes for recruiting overseas talent, and introductions to local institutional partners. Its business combines digital-asset treasury management, staking and validator operations, and advisory work for financial institutions considering blockchain adoption.

Under its Pacific Backbone initiative, Solana Company plans to establish Solana validator operations in Hong Kong. The broader project, unveiled in February, is designed as a low-latency Asia-Pacific infrastructure network initially connecting Seoul, Tokyo, Singapore and Hong Kong, with the company targeting staking and validation services for market makers, high-frequency traders, exchanges and traditional-finance partners. The company’s Hong Kong announcement did not specify when the city’s validators will begin operating, how many machines will be deployed, or how much SOL they will secure.

The Hong Kong plan follows the company’s earlier infrastructure rollout in the region. Hong Kong’s government has separately tied the OASES program to its wider innovation-and-technology strategy, including efforts to connect finance, research, talent and industry. The validator project therefore remains a stated business plan within a newly established government relationship, rather than an already completed Hong Kong deployment.
