Zerohash launches AUTH to streamline crypto transfers across 600-plus wallets and exchanges

Zerohash has launched AUTH, an account-linking service designed to let users move crypto, stablecoins and tokenized assets without copying wallet addresses or selecting blockchain networks. The company introduced the product at the Money20/20 conference in Las Vegas as it seeks to make onchain transfers resemble ordinary account-to-account payments.

Users select a supported custodial exchange account or self-custody wallet inside an AUTH-enabled application, authenticate through the provider and approve the transfer. AUTH handles routing and settlement, while the integrating platform determines which accounts, assets, networks and transfer types are available.

Zerohash’s live network lists 639 wallets and four institutional accounts: Coinbase, Robinhood and Gemini are listed as live, while Kraken is in beta.

The service uses account authentication and, where required, multifactor authentication rather than relying on a user to manually enter a long alphanumeric address. Zerohash says platforms can configure permitted connections, apply name-matching controls and restrict deposits initiated outside the AUTH flow.

Ryan Beaudry, AUTH’s general manager, is leading the product after previously serving as Mastercard’s executive vice president for global product and operations in open finance. Alex LaPrade, chief executive of a noncustodial multichain wallet, said address checks and test payments have been a major source of friction when users send assets to wallets.

The launch comes while Zerohash is pursuing a narrower national trust bank charter application. The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency returned the company’s earlier filing in July, identifying the procedural category for applications that lack enough information for a regulatory determination. Zerohash said the return was not a decision on the merits, and its revised application, submitted in August, entered a new review process with a public-comment period.

Zerohash was founded in 2017 and provides custody, compliance, liquidity, settlement and blockchain connectivity through APIs and developer tools. It operates regulated entities in 51 U.S. Jurisdictions and has supplied digital-asset infrastructure for financial firms including Morgan Stanley’s E*Trade. AUTH extends that infrastructure into a consumer-facing transfer flow in which the platform, rather than the user, controls the available connections and transaction options.
