The hole extended high-grade mineralization west and south of earlier gold and silver intercepts. Hycroft said the alteration and mineralization could indicate proximity to a potential source of the Vortex system, while follow-up drilling was already under way at Vortex and the Brimstone system.
The results arrive as Hycroft studies whether higher-grade material could support underground mining ahead of a larger open-pit development. Respec is preparing a conceptual underground mine plan and evaluating a ramp that could provide drilling access and potentially serve a future mine. Hatch is reviewing processing options, supported by metallurgical testing by Hazen Research, while recoveries and potential concentrate sales remain under review.
Hycroft’s wider project is still in the evaluation stage. Its May 2026 technical assessment described a potential 51-year open-pit operation using heap leaching for oxide material and milling with pressure oxidation for sulfide mineralization, but the assessment was not a construction decision and would require further engineering, permitting and financing.
